# Protocol Designed Returns

Returns are **variable** and no exact % can be guaranteed as the user controls the risk and length of the battles they stake their $GEN. Additionally users also can increase their $GEN earnings through referral bonuses so it is impossible to know how any individual user will fare. However, users can set expectations for their returns by using the calculator on <https://battlestakes.community>&#x20;

Assuming the user is to win their battle, they can expect to receive between **0.75% - 1.05% / day** on their $GEN in Battle. This is based upon the value after the battle taxes are paid.&#x20;

The $ARENA token - which can be traded to the protocol for BUSD - will be disbursed to winners at the following rate: *Arena disbursement factor\** (*Length of Battle \* $GEN Staked) / 365*

The Arena disbursement factor is based upon how many people are holding Arena relative to the protocol's holding.&#x20;

For each player that a user refers, the user will receive 5% (of the principal staked) each time that new player stakes their $GEN in battle. There is no limit on how much $GEN you can earn this way!
