# $ARENA Token

Not only will the winner of the battle be rewarded with additional $GEN coins, they will also be rewarded $ARENA tokens. The quantity rewarded is dependent on the length of the battle and the quantity of $GEN staked. The quantity of $ARENA will have a hard cap enabling the value of $ARENA token to increase as the **Arena Backed Value (ABV)** of the token increases with every new participant in the network. Holders of $ARENA are able to sell the token back to the protocol for the **Minimum Backed Value (MBV)** at all times.

{% hint style="success" %}
The MBV will be calculated as 75% of (ABV / 10,000).

The amount of $ARENA rewarded through Battling will be calculated by a weighted percentage of: *Amount $GEN Staked \* Length of Stake*
{% endhint %}

Users will also be able to trade their $ARENA directly for $GEN at a 33% increase over the MBV - which will be calculated as the *ABV / 10,000.* The $GEN will be deposited directly into the users castle.

However, the weighted percentage will be dynamic based upon the amount of $ARENA in circulation vs the amount of $ARENA held by the treasury within the protocol. If battlers hold a high percentage of $ARENA, then the emission of $ARENA to battle winners will reduce. However if holders of $ARENA decide to sell their $ARENA back to the protocol, it will increase the treasury’s holding of $ARENA, therefore causing a higher reward of $ARENA in future battlers – creating incentive to go back to battle.
